        e06  Compress Shield

General Information
The primary purpose of Compress Shield® is to improve the efficiency of air conditioners, chillers, and refrigerant systems, thereby reducing the cost to operate. This cost reduction is obtained through energy savings, lower maintenance costs and increased life of the equipment.

Compress Shield has an activated polar molecule that "seeks out" metal parts, displaces carbon contaminants and stagnant oil buildup in the condenser and evaporator, and then leaves a microscopic chemical layer, without the introduction of solid particles. This layer provides lubrication 1500% greater than the refrigerant oil alone, which reduces the wear factor by 85% when the system cycles on and off.

Compress Shield increases the lubricating ability of the refrigerant oil, displaces the buildup of oil in the condenser and evaporator, thereby restoring the systems ability to transfer heat.

Benefits
1) Increases efficiency!
2) Decreases amperage!
3) Lowers demand!
4) Reduces maintenance costs!
5) Increases the life of the equipment!

Application Domain
The PROA technology can be used to treat air-conditioners, air-conditionings, and refrigeration units. It can be used to treat rotary and screw-type compressors, hermetically and semi-hermetically sealed positive displacement (reciprocating) compressors, scroll compressors, and centrifugal chillers. The PROA treatment can be applied to all sized air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Compress Shield can be installed in systems where operating temperatures range between -65°F (54°C) and 400°F (204°C) with systems using R-134a, R-124, R-125, R-123 and R-122. It is also compatible with refrigerants from the Methane series (R-10 to R-50), the Ethane series (R-110 to R-170), and the Propane series (R216ca to R-290). It is also compatible with Chlorodifluoromethane (R-502), Sulfur Dioxide (R-764) and Carbon Dioxide (R-744).

History of the technology

After 10 years of research and development, PROA technology was created by scientists Dr. Charles Wilkins, Jack Hammock and Dr. Charles Thompson. In 1990, U.S. Patent 4,963,280 was awarded. Patent infringements have led to many "knock-off" products; however, Compress Shield® is the original product that has been tested and installed for over 12 years in thousands of compressors.

There are many types of refrigerant oil additives currently on the market, but Compress Shield® is the original Polarized Refrigerant Oil Additive (PROA) that is specifically designed to improve the efficiency of heat exchangers in air-conditioners, chillers, air-conditionings, and refrigeration systems, in addition to increasing the lubricity of refrigerant oil and reducing wear on compressor parts. Its unique patented formulation distinguishes it from all other oil additives.

Compress Shield has been tested by private and governmental agencies in the lab and in the field. Compress Shield has been successfully installed in thousands of compressors, including manufacturing facilities, refrigerated warehouses, universities, government buildings, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping malls, and office buildings. Compress Shield is proven to significantly reduce maintenance problems and energy costs. In fact, the maintenance cost savings may be greater than the energy savings.

Compress Shield is the only PROA product that is sold in the HVAC & R Industry to contractors on a daily basis who use it, not for energy savings, but for solving system problems.

References, installation and testing procedures, laboratory reports, chemical and technical discussion of the product, savings verification techniques, Manufacturer Warranty, and descriptions of problems Compress Shield has solved are available from EnergySphere.
